"Gordian gall"

Films: Viral (2016)

Alias: None

Type: Mutant

Location: Civilized Area

Height/Weight: Three times that of average parasitic worms.

Affiliation: Neutral

Summary: It seems that worm viruses are mildly popular this decade, huh? Then again, it is true that the only thing more terrifying than a disease is one with a conscious. And one that turns you into a ravenous cannibal.

History: Out of nowhere, the quaint Californian suburbia was beset by a virus. A sort of worm flu. Anyone who got infected, be it contact with the parasites or being bitten, would be turned into their own meat puppets, becoming berserk and forced to be put down. As the virus spreads and the survivors panic, the body count rises.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: After many are infected and/or killed, the whole placed is bombed to holy Hell to contain the flu. Whether this will halt the infection across the world remains ambiguous.

Powers/Abilities: A worm burrows into the body, and basically takes control over it, turning the host into a psychotic zombie. They can travel across bodies through host contact.

Weakness: Anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 4-The CGI isn't always the greatest, but the concept is a doozy. Seeing these disproportionately long worms slither inside and out of people's bodies is nauseating, and what those people end up like is no better. At the very least, it seems to be contained. Maybe.

Trivia: -These worms are based off the Gordian, or horseshair, worm. These long parasites typically infect the brains of arthropods in order to force them into entering water, where they thrive after exiting out of the body, leaving a braindead husk. And to give you an idea, they are often longer than their hosts.

-Gordian worms don't infect humans. They can end up in their bodies, but only if eaten by accident. And even then, they do no harm.
